Bird Study

Group members are developing their skills in finding and identifying the birds of Perthshire and beyond. Members share news about their sightings and the information they have gathered from watching and reading about birds. The group undertakes a study project from time to time; the current project is an investigation into local populations of the Tree Sparrow

Coffee & Chat

Held every four weeks in “Red Rooms” at Perth Theatre Drop in any time between 10 and 12 for a “cuppa” and meet fellow members and friends.

An opportunity to meet members not in your study group

Lunch Club

The group meets on Week 2 of the programme on Monday lunchtime at various preselected venues. These popular occasions provide an opportunity for members to meet socially

Mah-jong

Our group is now in its second year and our enthusiasm for the game has grown with increased familiarity. The numbers playing have remained consistently high, but there will be room for a few members - either beginners or those who have played before, in the 2010-11 session. We follow the rules as explained in an excellent U3A handbook - a copy of which is available in electronic form.

Scrabble 1

Scrabble 1 is a house group of eight members. We meet one afternoon a month for a few games and tea. We don't take our Scrabble too seriously and have some fun and laughs over our attempts. If we can we continue throughout the summer.

Scrabble 2

Members meet as a house group every four weeks This group was set up because the original Scrabble group was oversubscribed.

Scrabble 3

This group is newly formed in 2010-11 and meets on Thursday afternoons in the homes of members – currently 8 in total. We have a very relaxed attitude to our games and tend to adopt a co-operative style of play rather than a competitive one
