LINDA ROBB, marine ecologist and lecturer at the Scottish Association for Marine Science, near Oban, a partner college of the University of the Highlands and Islands and the largest independent marine research organisation in Scotland.

MARGARET LUMSDAINE, Chairman/President of the Marie Stuart Society and lecturer on her subject at St Andrews summer school.
Title of talk: ‘The Life of Marie Stuart’.

DAVID MUNRO, historical geographer and cruise ship lecturer, for 12 years director of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. His scientific travels have ranged far and wide from tropical forests to polar regions and closer to home around Scottish islands.

TICO SEIFERT, art curator, studied and was employed as a research associate at the Kunsthistorisches Institut of the Freie Universitat Berlin until 2008 when he was appointed Senior Curator (Northern European Art) at the National Gallery of Scotland. He organised the International Rembrandt Symposium in Berlin in 2006 and is currently preparing the ‘Young Vermeer’ exhibition, opening on December 10th at the NGS.

RUSSEL COLEMAN, archaeologist, a director of Headland Archaeology Ltd., a group of companies which interlink archaeological investigation and commercial development.
Title of talk: ‘We’re not the Time Team’: Commercial Archaeology in the Real World.

MICHAEL HALSEY, Cambridge research scholar and former diplomat who took early retirement in 1993 after 25 years mainly in the Middle East, latterly as First Secretary Saudi Arabia at the time of Desert Storm. His special area of expertise is Middle Eastern customs, religion and personalities.
